BORONIA KITCHEN

EATERY, BORONIA PARK

A beautiful eatery in the heart of Boronia Park, Boronia Kitchen needed design and styling elements to reflect their love of food & family.

A design package was created complete with feature wall installation, soft furnishing choices, crockery & ceramic ware, uniform selection and styling items for food photography use.

All design choices made use of local artisans where possible, to compliment Boronia's passion for local, sustainable produce and wares.

An ongoing relationship with Boronia Kitchen means that design services are utilised for special occasions throughout the year including Christmas and harvest time.

THE WELL

CAFE, BONDI BEACH

The need for cohesion and simplicity was key for this Bondi Beach café.

Attached to a gym & wellness centre, The Well Café required a restyle of their interiors to create a cohesive story, and the introduction of specialty interior design items to showcase the produce that is served on site, which comes directly from the owner’s local organic farm.

VALHALLA SOCIAL CLUB

CAFE, GLEBE

A household name in the heart of Glebe,

Valhalla Social Club required an enhancement to their look and feel prior to their opening in 2018.

As a business owned by a local family, styling items were required to accentuate the warmth, heart and passion behind the café whilst being mindful of a limited timeframe and resources.

A desire to introduce subtle referencing to Art Deco style was key, to honour The Valhalla Cinema which is the beautiful art deco building that sits above the cafe.

NEXT DOOR

FUNCTION ROOM, BORONIA PARK

A function room in the heart of Sydney’s North Shore, Next Door was a complete remodel of an existing office space transforming it into a warm, inviting and cozy private dining room.

A salvaged fireplace and timber panelling was applied to the walls to create what looked like a living room that had always existed…perhaps even uncovered.

Every aspect of this project focused on creating a meaningful relationship with the community. Local artwork and photos were used to adorn the walls, local historical images and antiques used to decorate.

Additionally, many interior fixtures and styling items were sourced from country NSW as we endeavoured to ‘buy from the bush’ following the tragic bushfires of 2020. This not only supported our rural NSW community, but added beautiful character filled items to the space.

RED LANTERN

RESTAURANT, DARLINGHURST

A revitalisation of an existing space, Red Lantern was looking for a new lease on life after the COVID lockdowns. The introduction of two character filled bar areas opened up the restaurant to create a welcoming, open and light space with a more casual feel for an after work crowd.

Our focus was to highlight the worn-in glamour of Vietnam by applying ageing effects to the restaurant walls, and importing additional vintage props, planters and art from Vietnam.

A custom exterior paint colour named Femme Fatale was created in collaboration with Porter’s Paints to take the exterior of the restaurant from purple to Red creating consistency with the narrative of the business.

EUCUMBENE TROUT FARM

HOMESTEAD AND GUEST ACCOMODATION, BERRIDALE N.S.W.

A complete restoration of an existing heritage farmhouse and its outbuildings in the NSW Snowy Mountains region, creating a new living quarters and holiday accomodations on the property.

We introduced a bohemian feel to all interiors, speaking to artists, filmmakers and musicians who may use the property.

Local stone and timber was used where possible - Interior daybeds and benches were all constructed from hoop pine found on the property - local granite was sourced from the many paddocks on the farm to create new fireplaces and feature stone retaining walls.

Local artisans were engaged for interior styling items where appropriate, and antiques or architectural items found on the property were salvaged and reused.

A project with a lot of heart and a focus on creating meaningful relationships with the local community and respecting the importance of Eucumbene Trout Farm in the Monaro region.

QUICK BROWN FOX

CAFE, PYRMONT

A revitalisation of an existing cafe that needed a refined focus and redirection after the COVID lockdowns.

QBF is situated in a convict built sandstone cottage in Pyrmont, so a focus on respecting and complimenting the heritage of the space was crucial.

The project aimed to strip back a number of design elements that were clashing with the heritage bones of the space, and an introduction of new elements that created a clearer narrative for the business.

An ongoing relationship with QBF means that it is constantly evolving as it remains a favourite brunch spot in Sydney.
